SUMMARY:Adoption of legal tech: Why it doesn’t happen on its own
DESCRIPTION:Lots of discussion about legal technology is driven by buzzwords. Things you could do\, the promise of artificial intelligence and complex data science. \nLegal tech start-ups are widespread now\, producing apps that look like they were designed by Apple. \nAgainst this background\, it is easy to forget that less sexy topic of “getting stuff used”. Legal tech can help make things better for law firms\, legal teams and everybody who interacts with them. But it has absolutely no hope of doing this if we are talking about technology in the absence of why anybody should ever care about using it. \nIn this session\, Jack Shepherd\, Legal Practice Lead at iManage will discuss why legal tech adoption doesn’t happen on its own\, and how to deliver it.

SUMMARY:LegaMart : Raising Womens' voices in legal tech
DESCRIPTION:Join Sanaz Javadi Farahzadi\, Legal Network Manager at Legamart to discuss ‘Raising Womens voices in Legal Tech’. \nSupport networks for women are critical in allowing women to identify with other women and navigate their way through issues. More women in legal tech means more quality mentors available to help guide and develop up and coming entrepreneurs\, while adding to the richness of the sector. \nIf more women are to be successful in the legal tech industry\, changes need to be implemented that make it more equitable for women to start-up in the sector and grow their business beyond a micro-business. More women visible in the sector means greater diversity in the industry and more support available. \nLegaMart and its Women’s Initiative is proud to announce Women in Tech\, to highlight a community of women in science\, technology\, engineering\, and mathematics (STEM) fields. Our main goal is to create a platform for women in STEM and legal professionals\, technology providers and consumers of legal services and share their experiences\, knowledge\, and background on Intellectual Property\, tech law\, data protection and etc.

SUMMARY:Vaultinum | Maximising Your Investment Potential: Why a Tech Health Check is a Must!
DESCRIPTION:With more tension on the market these days\, investors are exercising greater scrutiny over deals with a particular focus on the technology.  However\, greater scrutiny doesn’t mean no risks; it means being aware of them and having a plan. \nIf you’re a company preparing for an investment\, fundraising or sale\, it’s important to have a comprehensive understanding of potential issues that could impact your value\, including assessing the use of Open-Source Software (OSS) within your technology. \nJoin Kristin\, Senior Legal Officer at Vaultinum\, as she speaks about how companies can confidently prepare for fundraising or investment by conducting a ‘health check’ of their technology through automated scanning\, which analyses every line of code to identify possible cyber vulnerabilities\, intellectual property issues\, and maintainability risks -– all of which will help to maximise the value of the deal.
