2020-06-08T15:42:58+00:00

The global legal industry is experiencing rapid change at the hands of technology, yet we know very little about those affecting the change. Historically, research has focused on the users of technology and not the legal technology companies creating it. The UKLTA has joined forces with legal technology associations worldwide through an initiative spearheaded by Alpha Creates and ALTA (Australian Legal Technology Association), in order to support a first-of-a-kind survey. Discussions focused around engaging lawyers with technology products and providers. Conversation has been varied and productive at both events so far. Kirsten Maslen from Thomson Reuters stated:   “The round table was a good opportunity for law firms and in-house lawyers to share expectations around the use of technology, and discuss best practice approaches to selecting and implementing new technology, as well as what additional information they require from the market to help [...]

UKLTA Update

2020-01-24T10:29:29+00:00

We have been working hard behind the scenes to formalise a strategy for 2019/20 that will move the association forward. Our focus this year is to go out and speak with the legal community so we can build a greater understanding of the issues around engagement with legaltech and legal education to help us to determine how the UKLTA can help. In order to achieve this we will be hosting a series of roundtables that are taking place across the UK. We hope you will be able to join us so we can hear your views. The output from [...]
